Research and development: inner lab at H2E
We develop new technologies and methods to improve the performance and efficiency of hydrogen production and recovery systems, both through our in-house laboratory and through collaborations with leading Italian universities.
H2Energy has an R&D laboratory divided into ‘new materials development area’ and ‘test area’.
The materials development area is provided with a chemical laboratory equipped for:
- Development of innovative membranes
- Functionalisation of polymers
- Development and formulation of new catalysts
- Membrane-electrode assembly (CCM or MEA)
- Membrane-electrode-porous layer assembly (CCS)
In collaboration with highly prestigious national and international universities and research centres.
The test area makes it possible to test the performance of materials developed within the laboratory or to carry out tests for third parties by making available the high electrochemical skills and decades of experience of the R&D team and its instrumentation:
- multi-channel potentiostat/galvanostat equipped with:
- OCV and potentiodynamic polarisations
- frequency response analysis module
- Booster for EIS testing
- Rotating Disck Electrode (RDE), for catalyst analysis
- test bench for laboratory-scale electrolyte stacks
- ICP-OES
- SEM
- FT-IR
